Unable To Save Voicemail Because of "Operating System Misconfiguration"

Some users have reported an error when saving voicemail messages:

Unable to Export

PhoneView was unable to save this file because of an operating sytem misconfiguration. Please contact Ecamm customer support for details on how to fix this problem.

This appears to be due to an OS X issue that can happen after restoring a system from a Time Machine backup.

Fortunately, here are some steps that should fix the problem:

1) On your Mac, open up the Terminal application, which is in Applications/Utilities.

2) Copy/paste in:

sudo /usr/libexec/xpchelper --rebuild-cache

3) Press return. You will be prompted from your administrator password. Enter it and press return. Note you will not be able to see what you're typing.

4) Reboot the Mac.
