I'm uploading a recorded video to a website and it seems like there is audio missing when it plays back on the web. What's going on?
The movie files created by Call Recorder contain two audio tracks. Some websites such as Facebook and YouTube may not notice the second audio track, resulting in missing audio. No, Call Recorder requires an active Skype call to record a movie. To record yourself, we recommend using Quicktime Player. Choose "New Movie Recording" from the File menu.
Will Call Recorder work with multi-person calls?
Yes, Call Recorder will record all participants of a call. Your local audio will be on Track 1, and everyone else on Track 2. Multi-person video calls will also be recorded. In Multi-track mode, each participants' video will be on separate video tracks in the QuickTime movie.
Is there a Windows version available?
Call Recorder is Mac-only, but there are a handful of Windows alternatives.
Why don't I hear both sides of the call when I play back the recording?
Call Recorder records local and remote audio onto separate audio tracks within the Quicktime movie file. Some movie playback apps may not play both tracks. Ensure that you are playing the movies using Ecamm Movie Toos or double-clicking to open them in Quicktime Player. Also note that the Finder QuickLook feature in OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and newer may not play both tracks.
How come I can't open the QuickTime movies created by Call Recorder in some audio programs?
The movie files created by Call Recorder contain multiple audio tracks. This can cause problems when opening (converting) the movies in some programs. To work around this, you can use the included Ecamm Movie Tools application to export movies with just one audio track before editing. Ecamm Movie Tools is located in your Applications folder.
Can the "demo" watermark be removed from calls made with the Call Recorder demo version?
