A: The TechSounds desktop app can play and convert any QuickTime compatible sound files. This includes MP3, WAV, AIFF, AU, M4A, MOV and more. "Windows Media" and "Real Media" files are not supported by Quicktime.
Q: How come sounds played in the desktop program sound like they are stuttering?
A: This is a problem with certain versions of QuickTime for Windows. Rebooting your PC should make this problem go away. Also, ensure that you have latest QuickTime installed.
Q: How can I mute or unmute TechSounds?
A: Mute TechSounds by quickly dragging your stylus down the screen from the very top to the very bottom.
Q: How can I adjust the volume for individual actions?
A: Edit a sound set and tap-and-hold the gray icon to the left of an action. You will see a volume control.
Q: Can I assign special ringtones to certain callers?
A: Not yet. This is coming in a future version.
Q: What happened to TechSounds 4?
A: TechSounds 4 was sold from 1999 to 2005 and has now been retired. TechSounds 5 is a completely rewritten version which supports Palm OS 5 devices. If you are an
existing customer with an older (Palm OS 3 or 4) device, and you want to run TechSounds 4, contact customer support and request version 4.1.
Q: What happened to TechScreens?
A: TechScreens has not yet been added to TechSounds 5. For TechSounds 4 users, the TechScreens gallery is still available here.
