Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can BeamPRO be used to send files or information from a phone, Pocket PC, or PC?
A: No, BeamPRO only runs on the Palm OS, and can only be used to send files from the Palm to other devices.
Q: Can BeamPRO send the entire contents of an Address Book or Datebook to another Palm?
A: Using "Select All" in the Address mode, you can send the entire Address Book to another Palm. Use "Select All" and the Datebook tab's "month view" feature to send an entire month of Datebook items.
Q: How come the Palm can't find my other Bluetooth device?
A: Make sure that the receiving device's Bluetooth is set to "Discoverable" mode. This will allow the Palm to find it.
Q: What devices can receive data from BeamPRO?
A: Any infrared or Bluetooth compatible device that supports OBEX (Object Exchange Protocol) can accept data from BeamPRO. This includes almost all modern computers, phones or PDAs. Devices that support multi-part MIME data can receive multiple files in a single transfer. To accept Address and Datebook items, the receiving device must support the vCard and vCalendar standards.
