- Quit iChat if it's running.
- Connect your USB camera or video source.

should appear next to your buddy icon. Click on it. You should see a video preview appear. Congratulations, you're in business.
If you don't see a camera:
Uninstalling:
To uninstall iUSBCam, run the "Install iUSBCam" program included in the v2.2.4 download. Click "Uninstall iUSBCam".
Getting Drivers:
If you can see a picture from your webcam in a video viewing program such
as Video Viewer, then you already have drivers. This section is for people with webcams that aren't currently working.
If you need drivers for an old USB webcam, try one of the following sources. Each driver supports a range of devices. Check their respective documentation for a list of supported cameras.
IMPORTANT: You should never have more than one driver for the same device installed at a time.
- See our camera
guide for a list of cameras and tested drivers.
- A few of Logitech's latest cameras work without installing a driver (The driver comes built-in to OS X 10.4.3 and higher.) See the camera guide for details.
- macam 0.9.1 supports a wide variety of cameras and is now a Universal Binary. Be sure you're running the latest version as previous versions had compatibility issues.
IMPORTANT: To install the macam driver, drag the file called macam.component into the "drag component into here!" alias in the macam disk image. This is a necessary step for using macam with iUSBCam.
Note: If you experience a crash when opening iChat with macam, ensure that you have the latest version (v0.9.1).
- The Macally IceCam is Mac compatible and comes with required drivers on CD. If you need to download the latest drivers, you can get them here: Macally Drivers.
- Logitech supports a few of their QuickCam cameras
in OS X. See the camera
guide for more info. Read this important note about QuickCapture.
- IOXperts USB WebCam Driver For OS X supports a variety of cameras including older QuickCams and Philips cams.
Also, see known
issues for important information about drivers.
